ECO DESIGN
ECO-DESIGN directives are the whole of the laws that the European Union determines the energy use criteria in energy-consuming products and that manufacturers are legally obliged to comply with. The directives were examined under the headings of each product group and LOT6, which covers ventilation devices and air handling units, was accepted in the European Parliament in 2013 with the EU 1254/2014 directive number and entered into force.
The ECO-DESIGN directives, prepared by the European Council with the aim of replacing low energy efficient products in the market with high efficiency ones, were accepted as a prerequisite for CE certification with the specified dates and restricted the entry of unsuitable devices into EU countries. Within the scope of the ECO-DESIGN directive that has been in effect since January 1, 2016, a number of limit values have been determined for air handling units, such as fan, heat recovery exchanger, and filter efficiency. In addition, in the directive, rules such as thermal by-pass and visual filter pollution monitoring related to the operation of the air handling unit have been made mandatory.
